Every month 13,000 young people reach out to The Prince’s Trust, this demand far outpaces the supply of employability services that they can offer. The Prince’s Trust co-creates solutions that integrate with employer’s recruitment, selection, talent and apprenticeship programmes.
Our partners report increased retention, loyalty and engagement, and delivering trainings, mentoring and ‘buddying’ offers opportunities for staff to volunteer and develop themselves impacting engagement and job satisfaction.
With M&S, The Prince’s Trust has supported over 5,500 young people to date; over 88% have successfully moved into employment within M&S and 10% of new apprentices come through an employability programme.

Corrig Mcgonigle, from Llansadwrn, Anglesey, is embarking on a career in construction after completing a Get into programme in North Wales.
20 year old Corrig had often aspired to work in construction but without a lot of experience, and lacking certain qualifications, he found it difficult to break into the industry.
After two months being unemployed, Corrig was signposted to our Get into Construction programme, run in partnership with Kier Construction, Willmott Dixon and Wynne Construction – companies that form part of the North Wales Construction Framework.
Corrig excelled during the course, gaining experience in different parts of the industry and shadowing a foreman on a working construction site. He also gained several qualifications, including the essential CSCS card which proves holders have the basic skills required to contribute to an active work site. Kier Construction were so impressed by Corrig that they offered him full-time employment on completion of the programme.
Corrig says: “After finishing school, I was really keen to kick start my career and it was frustrating that I was restricted to temporary jobs and periods out of work. To be honest I was a little sceptical about the course, but I am so happy I took the chance. Now I have a job, qualifications and experience, and I’m confident about progressing in my career and my life. I would absolutely recommend The Prince’s Trust to other young people looking for a chance to prove their worth.”
Get into Hospitality with Greene King graduate Rachael McAtee gained the confidence she needed to explore a career in the industry. Following Rachael’s three-week placement, she was quickly offered a job by Greene King before moving onto the company’s apprenticeship scheme. Greene King, the country’s leading pub retailer and brewer, has been working with The Prince’s Trust to run hospitality courses since 2016 and has also supported 10,000 of its own team members through its award-winning Apprenticeship Programme, which launched in 2011.Offering roles for leadership and management, brewing, chefs, bar and front of house staff, it helps team members like Rachael achieve industry-leading qualifications and build a long-term career in hospitality. Rachael, just one of the 160 young people to have benefited from The Trust’s Get into Hospitality courses in partnership with Greene King so far.
Rachel says: “It was fantastic to be offered a front of house role with Greene King. I settled into that role quickly and it didn’t take long before I was recommended to apply for the Greene King Apprenticeship programme. I’ve not only achieved a Level 2 F&B services, an industry recognised qualification, but I’m working my way up the ranks and exploring further development opportunities available to me. For those wondering what a career in the hospitality industry would be like, I encourage them to take the leap. It’s definitely worth it!”
